2007 North American Llama & Alpaca Show

Exhibitor's must be the registered owners & make entry in the exact names as shown on the registration certificate. All llamas must be ILR registered, except animals for youth classes or non-breeders with a vet certificate. Non-breeders must be accompanied by a vet certificate verifying. All alpacas entered in the show must be registered by the Alpaca Registry, Inc. (ARI), Canadian Livestock Records Corporation (CLRC) or the International Lama Registry (ILR).
ALL ANIMALS BROUGHT TO THE NORTH AMERICAN LLAMA AND ALPACA SHOW MUST BE ENTERED IN THE SHOW. The policy on display animals for the show is that they must be in the East Wing Commercial exhibit area and pay the rates for booth space. This policy applies to all species of livestock. These display animals must adhere to the guidelines of their exhibit contract for space rental.
One entry/youth in all youth performance classes. An animal can only go through each OB, PR, or Pack class one time.
- Jr. Youth: 8-11
- Intermediate: 11-14
- Senior: 15-18

A Youth who turns 8 during the year can show as of his/her birthday.
Include ALSA numbers for each youth handler and adult showmanship exhibitor.
If not owner of Sire or Dam in Get or Produce classes-must bring written permission from owner.
Produce Of Dam: 2 offspring-same dam.
Get Of Sire: 3 offspring-same sire, out of 2 different dams.
All Get & Produce entries must show in appropriate halter classes.
All animals must be 5 months of age to show. Nursing llama and alpaca mothers may not be accompanied in the ring by their crias.

Age as of November 3, 2007 for Alpacas
- Age as of November 4, 2007 for Llamas.

Juvenile: 5-12 months.
- Yearling: 13-24 months

2 year old: 25-36 months
- Adult: over 36 months for llamas.
Include all ALSA numbers for your animal..
LLAMA WOOL DESCRIPTIONS: Light: Minimum body wool, short neck wool, and smooth legs. Medium: moderate to long body wool, minimal to moderate neck wool, smooth to moderate leg wool. Heavy: abundant body & neck wool with minimal to abundant leg wool.. Suri: Lustrous, cool hand, lack of crimp and minimal loft, locked fiber that drapes over the llamas body. Fibers are grouped in distinctive, defined lock structure. Enter your animals in their proper wool divisions.
Walking Fiber Class will be held in a specified area and judged individually at the exhibitors convenience Friday evening after exhibitors meeting and from 8:00 am til 11:00 am Saturday. The walking fiber classes will be pulled into the arena as a class, placings announced and oral reasons given at some point on Saturday. Don't miss this important part of the camelid industry. Entry for Walking Fiber can be made and paid for at registration on Friday.
Shorn Fiber entries must be turned in by 6:00 pm Friday evening.
Arrival Time: 11:00 AM on Friday-9 PMPLEASE NOTE: State Vet inspection required prior to stalling. Vet will be at the llama building only until 6 pm. Arrival after 6 pm will require securing a inspection vet from another location at the facility resulting in some delay in stalling. Some classes are also being held Friday evening so check schedule to determine your necessary arrival time.

Saturday am 7 to 8.
It is important for all exhibitors to attending the exhibitor's meeting Friday evening at 6:30 pm following the complimentary dinner at 6:00 pm.
Entry deadline is postmarked by October 20, 2007.
Other Information:
- Dogs allowed on grounds and in barns as long as on leach.
- Barn and arena is enclosed but not heated.
- Dress accordingly.
- Ribbons to 6th place for all classes plus 1st place awards Payback for classes if entries allow.
- Food available on the grounds.
- Selling products on the show floor is NOT ALLOWED!
