Health Certificate Requirements for the 2007 North American Llama & Alpaca Show
Health papers must be within 30 days of the show for animals in or out of the state.
1. All animals except as noted shall be accompanied by a Certificate of Veterinary Examination. A Certificate of Veterinary Examination shall be void 150 days after issuance. A Certificate of Veterinary Examination means a legible record covering the requirements of the state of destination accomplished on an official form of a standard size from the state of origin or equivalent form of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, that Veterinary Services, United States Dept. of Agriculture, that is prepared and issued by a licensed, accredited veterinarian.
2. A representative from the KTY office of State Veterinary Animal Health will verify and examine health papers.
3. In addition to being free from infectious or contagious diseases, the following will be required of llamas and alpacas:
KY animals 6 months of age and over shall be negative to an official blood test for Brucellosis within 150 days of date of exhibition. All out of state animals 6 months and over shall be negative to an official blood test for Brucellosis within 30 days of date of exhibition.
All animals of 6 months of age and over are required to have a negative tuberculin test within 60 days of date of exhibition, administered no skin clipped of hair, on the ribcage or in the auxiliary space (elbow).
All llamas and alpacas shall be individually identified by brand, ear tag or ear/tail tattoo.
OR a photo copy of the animal's registration certificate showing the registration number and photographs of the animal's front, rear, left and right positions may be a substitute as an official identification. When registration certificate is not available, the photographs shall constitute as the official identification.
4. Any llama or alpaca showing signs of any infectious or communicable diseases are not eligible for entry.
The show could be limited to the amount of animals that are entered due to stalling limitations. Entries are accepted on a first come, first serve basis considering complete entry information. This includes completed animal and stalling information and entry fees.
